Blue Graded Round Acrylic Side Table on Rolled Sheet (55cm) by Giant Sculptures, round acrylic top over a curved rolled-sheet base, blue fading to pale at the bottom, on a plain white background.
Blue Graded Round Acrylic Side Table on Rolled Sheet - 55cm $2,69900
Description

A side table whose round top and rolled base share one blue, strong above and paling toward the floor. The base is unusually simple: a single sheet rolled into an open curve, standing on its own two ends, with one flat blade crossing it from front to back to stop the curve opening out. The top rests on both, and the rolled sheet is visible through the top as a soft arc.

One Sheet Rolled, One Blade Across It

A rolled sheet has to be brought round in one heat. The acrylic is warmed along its whole length, drawn over a drum, and held while it cools - stop short and it relaxes open over the following weeks, take it too far and the outer face crazes. The two feet where the curve lands are the only part in contact with the floor, so they are ground true afterwards or the table rocks. The crossing blade is cut with a slot that matches a slot in the roll, and the two engage halfway so neither piece stands proud; that joint is what makes a single curved sheet into a base that will carry a top. The blue is graded in the sheet, so the roll carries the colour down its whole height with the deepest part where the top meets it.

At 55cm this stands above the arm of most sofas, which makes it a table to put beside a chair rather than in front of one - a lamp, a book, a glass. The top is generous for its height. The curved base reads differently from every angle, so it is worth putting where it can be seen from more than one side, rather than pushed into a corner where the roll is hidden and only the blade shows.

The Roll, the Blade, and Carrying It Upstairs

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. The top can be cut square instead of round, and the roll can be brought to a tighter or a looser curve. The grade can be supplied in another colour or left out for plain clear acrylic. The table is priced as it stands. It arrives in three pieces - top, roll and blade - and goes together without tools, the blade dropping into its slot and the top seating on both. That makes it simple to get into an awkward room, since nothing in the carton is wider than the top. One person can carry the whole thing. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

One sheet rolled with a blade across it belongs with our art furniture; a blue grade paling to the floor connects with our acrylic sculptures, and a stand for a lamp and a book joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
