The whole console is built from small cubes rather than cut from sheet, so every surface is a field of squares and every edge is stepped. The colour runs with the mass: deep blue along the top, thinning down each leg, colourless where the feet meet the floor. The two legs do not drop straight but arch inward under the slab, which brings the feet in from the ends.
Massing a console out of cubes is a decision about tolerance more than about form. Each cube has to be cut to the same dimension in all three axes, because a cube a fraction out shows twice - once as a step in the face and once as a gap at the joint - and there are enough of them here for a small error to accumulate into a visible lean. They are bonded in courses, and whether those courses run level from every angle is the only real test of a piece massed this way. The graded colour is achieved by casting the cubes in batches and laying them by tone rather than by tinting the finished piece, so the change reads as a drift rather than a boundary. The arch in each leg is built as a corbel, every course stepping in a little.
A console massed like this reads as heavy from a distance and light up close, which suits a hall where people pass it twice a day rather than a room where it is looked at once. Because the feet stand well inside the ends, the console can sit over a floor register or a pipe run that a four-legged piece would straddle. At this length it wants a wall of its own. A raking light across the front is what makes the cube field read; flat light from the ceiling flattens it.
Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. Cube size is set at order and changes the grain of the whole piece rather than only its detail. The colour can be run from the floor upward instead of down, taken through a green, an amber or a grey, or left out for a colourless console. The arch in the legs can be opened out until the feet come in close together, or straightened for a console that stands square. Length and height are both made to the sizes you give. Delivery is one crate, the console on its back and already together, and at this size it is a four-person lift; it goes through a standard doorway on edge. Nothing is fixed to the wall. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Blue draining down through stepped cubes belongs with our acrylic sculptures; legs that arch in under the slab lead to our geometric sculptures, and a stepped console to pass twice a day joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
