Blue Graded Arch Base Resin Side Table - 43cm
Blue Graded Arch Base Resin Side Table - 43cm $3,23800
Description

A side table cast in blue resin, square in plan. The top is a square with heavily rounded corners, dished in the middle and thick at the edge, so its rim stands proud of its centre. It rests on a single base pierced by one tall arch, which leaves two broad feet. Through the arch the blue is pale at mid-height and darkens steadily to navy at the feet, while the top is a pale field inside a darker rim.

One Arch Carrying a Dished Square Top

Two things make this piece work and they pull against each other. The top is generous and soft: a square that has given up its corners, dished enough to read as a shallow tray, with a rim thick enough to catch a bright line all the way round. The base is severe: a single slab with one arch cut through it, no taper, no moulding, square edges throughout. Because the material is translucent, the floor seen through the arch is displaced and deepened, and the opening reads as a second, darker arch inside the first. The graded colour ties the two together: pale where the arch is thin to the eye, it gathers into navy at the feet and along the outer edges, with no band or boundary anywhere along it. Every one grades slightly differently.

It stands just under sofa-arm height, so its place is in front of a seating group rather than at one end. It works beside a low chair, at the foot of a bed, or in front of a window where the arch can be seen through. Its raised rim makes the top read as a shallow tray, a place for a book, a bowl or a stack of magazines. Set it where light can come through the arch from behind and the blue lays a coloured shadow on the floor. Indoors only.

Where the Colour Starts, and the Shape of the Opening

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The grade is what sets the time rather than the size. Two things are chosen at order. Where the grade begins and ends, which changes the object entirely: blue deepening towards the feet reads as weight settling, and the reverse reads as light rising. And the opening in the base, which can be this single tall arch, a pair of narrow ones, or a plain slab with no piercing at all. The blue can also be a smoke grey, an amber or a green. Plan size and height are quoted to whatever figures you give us. The table travels on a purpose built pallet inside a single crate, arrives solid, and should be set down by two people. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A single pierced arch under a tray-like top makes this table at home in our abstract sculptures; it is also listed in our art furniture, and its tinted cast in our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
