Blue Feathered Split Disc Resin Sculpture - 75cm
Blue Feathered Split Disc Resin Sculpture - 75cm $3,90100
Description

A disc of clear resin, thick through its whole body, with a deep, rounded split cut down from its top edge, so two arms rise either side of the opening while the lower half of the disc stays whole. A cloud of deep blue gathers low in one side, white feathering drifts through the other arm, and fine dark threads run through the whole body, with blue showing along every edge. Its one flat foot rests on a black marble block that is part of the order.

One Disc, Opened From Above

A disc opened from above has to keep reading as a circle, and the split is cut so that it does: the outer edge runs unbroken round both sides and the base, and the opening stops well short of the foot, so the two arms read as one form parted rather than two pieces set side by side. The resin itself is left clear, and the colour sits inside it in three ways at once, as a dense blue cloud, as drifting white feathering and as fine dark threads that cross everywhere. Polished all over, the thick edges carry the blue round the whole outline.

A sideboard or a wide console suits it, square on to the room. Whatever stands behind will show through the split, so keep that side of the room plain. Light through the split is the whole idea: it outlines both arms and lights the feathering and the blue cloud from behind at once. The circle reads from anywhere and the split from across the room; the feathering and the dark threads wait until you are close.

Opening the Split, and How It Arrives

Count on the difference between standard and bespoke: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The split is opened wider, the feathering is left out, and the black of the block can give way to white marble. Open the split and both arms are redrawn, because the outline has to stay a circle around the wider opening. The blue cloud can be set higher or spread through both sides, which moves the weight of the colour. Disc and block share one crate, packed apart, and the disc is lifted by its whole lower half, never by either arm. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear disc split from its top, clouded deep blue on one side and feathered white on the other, stands with our indoor sculptures, our contemporary and modern sculptures and our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
