Blue Diving Twin Bird Resin Sculpture - 45cm, two blue resin birds with ribbed sweeping wings on a black marble base, set against a plain white background.
Blue Diving Twin Bird Resin Sculpture - 45cm $1,63100
Description

Two blue resin birds dive one over the other, the upper bird coming down head first with its tail raised and the bird beneath it resting on a block of black marble. Their long wings curve up from the body and sweep out to slender tips, each one ribbed along its length. Blue fills the two bodies and every wing clears toward its tip, so the four wing ends read as light. The marble block is supplied with the birds.

Two Birds Coming Down Together

A dive is a difficult moment of flight to hold still, because the whole body points one way and the wings have to answer it. Here the upper bird comes down head first over the other, its tail lifted behind it, and the bird beneath meets the block with its own wings still raised, so the two read as one movement arriving at the marble. The ribs run along each wing from the body to the tip, which draws the eye outward along all four wings rather than across them, and the blue thins as it goes until the tips are almost colourless. Each wing is ribbed and then polished, so the ribs catch the light one after another along the sweep.

Give it a sideboard, a cabinet top or a deep shelf with room at either end, since the wings reach well out beyond the block on both sides. A quiet wall behind keeps the line of the wings clear, and a light raking along them picks up the ribs on each wing in turn as you pass. Seen from the front, the head-first dive of the upper bird reads at once, and the blue gathered in the two bodies holds the centre.

Wingspan, Colour and Delivery

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The wings can be drawn out further, the blue deepened or graded from the tips, and the block cut in pale marble or in another stone or shape. The ribs can be cut finer, or the wings left smooth underneath. Where two birds are too much for the setting, one diving bird is made alone on the block. It travels in one crate and is lifted by the marble block alone, never by a wing or a tail. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two blue birds diving onto black marble lead on to our bird sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
