Blue Dimpled Cone Cast Resin Bowl, 40cm, cone-shaped with dimpled texture on a round foot, pale blue interior and deep blue exterior, on a plain white background.
Blue Dimpled Cone Cast Resin Bowl - 40cm $1,75400
Description

This bowl is a straight-sided cone in deep blue on a small round foot, its whole surface, inside and out, pocked with close-set shallow dimples. The blue is strongest where the wall is deepest and the dimples catch white on their edges, so the interior reads paler than the outside from every angle.

Dimples Worked Through a Blue Cone

Every dimple is modelled into both mould faces, so the field runs through the material and the inside carries it as fully as the outside - which is the difficulty, because the two faces have to register to one another or the wall thins where a dimple meets a dimple. The blue is carried in the material rather than on it, so the colour deepens with the section and the rim reads darkest. The cone is taken to a gloss inside and out. The small foot is faced flat and true, and it is the only part of the piece left plain.

At 40cm it is meant to be looked down into rather than at, so it sits better on a low table or a sideboard than on a shelf at eye height. A cone this shallow shows its whole interior from standing, which is where the dimple field is worth seeing. It holds nothing: the foot is small and the wall is thin, and anything set inside it would cover the surface that is the reason to have it.

The Dimples, the Small Foot, and Ordering a Group

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. It is the dimple field that decides. There are three open questions. The blue can be taken to any tint, the dimples can be worked at any density, and the foot can be made wider for a shelf. Tell us the bowl span and the cone depth. Specify the whole group at once and the density of the dimples is held through it. The packing is designed round the thin rim and the small foot; allow one person on arrival. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A deep blue cone dimpled inside and out belongs with our geometric sculptures; on a sideboard it reads as one of our abstract sculptures, its tinted body one of our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
