Blue & Yellow Slant-Topped Gem Acrylic Sculpture - 45cm
Blue & Yellow Slant-Topped Gem Acrylic Sculpture - 45cm $2,44200
Description

A compact acrylic sculpture whose top runs level across one shoulder and then falls away in a long slope over the other, ending in a point at the far side. The faces below are moderate in number and size. Blue, teal and yellow arrive in roughly equal measure across them, a broad yellow face low on the front, a band of teal through the middle and blue up the side beneath the level shoulder, and a single deep magenta face lies under the slope itself.

A Top That Falls Away to One Side

A slanting top sets the terms for the rest of the cut. The long slope over one shoulder pulls the eye down and across the piece, so the faces beneath it are kept moderate in number and size and the colour is held in broad areas, yellow and teal across the front, blue under the level shoulder and magenta in the one face that sits under the slope. The short level run at the top is left plain for the same reason, giving the slope something to fall from. Each face is then polished out to a clean arris, so that every colour stops at an edge rather than fading into the next.

At 45cm this is made for a deep sideboard or the long top of a cabinet, which lifts its crown to about chest height so the line of the slope reads clearly against the wall behind it. Turn it so the slope falls across the view rather than towards it, which is what lets the level shoulder and the long fall be seen together. Light from one side is what it needs: it runs down the slope and brings the yellow face up, where a single spotlight overhead flattens the top into one bright edge.

The Slope, the Film and Delivery

Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The slope of the top paces this build, since every face below it is set out from that one line. Proportion, the pitch of the slope and the film all belong to the order: a steeper fall, a gentler one, or a broader cut for a low cabinet. There are three films: blue and yellow as here, magenta-to-gold, or a pastel. It is lifted with one hand flat under the foot and the other on a broad face, never by the point where the slope ends. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Level at one shoulder and sloping away over the other, this compact gem belongs with our geometric sculptures, our acrylic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
