A cube of acrylic, this sculpture is tipped onto one of its own edges, so that it rests on two corners with a level edge at the top and its upper faces leaning away from you. The cut is deliberately coarse: a handful of broad planes rather than the fine faceting of a desk-scale piece, which leaves each face wide enough to hold one colour across its full width. Saturated magenta and violet fill the upper faces, cyan runs through the middle, and the foot goes pale green and cream where the film falls away from the angle.
Standing a cube on an edge is a balance problem before it is a sculptural one, and the answer is in the edge rather than in the body. The whole weight of the block comes down along that one edge and onto the two corners at its ends, and the block is set so that the edge at the top runs level above it. Get that wrong by a degree and the piece stands at a tilt that reads as an accident, which on a regular solid is the one thing the eye catches immediately. The coarse planes are chosen for the same reason: at this scale a broad face returns one clean colour, and the composition is then a handful of large decisions rather than a shimmer. Each block is cut and balanced individually, so the resting angle differs a little from piece to piece.
A cube tipped onto an edge is floor and plinth work rather than shelf work. It suits a position with room around it, seen from several sides: the turn of a room, beside a stair, on a broad hearth, or on a plinth in a hall where it is approached from a distance and then passed close. Because it leans, the face that greets somebody arriving is a decision worth making before it is set down. Give it side light. Frontal light hits the leaning upper faces square and washes them out, while light raking across from a window picks up the edges and shows the piece is standing on an edge.
As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The scale, the cut and the film are all agreed when it is ordered: it can be made at hall height, or cut with many more planes. The film runs from the magenta-violet used here through gold-to-rose and green-to-cyan, and on a solid this size it can be applied to alternate faces only, so half the block stays clear and the colour reads as something inside it. The resting edge can also be cut to a wider flat for a firmer stance on a soft floor. Nothing needs assembling: it is lowered onto its resting edge and turned into place, held by two broad faces and never by the top edge. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
