A boulder cut into flat facets, this cast resin sculpture is coloured a deep blue with emerald green running through it. One is supplied per order, in three sizes: an upright form and two flatter ones that sit close to the surface. Every face is polished, and the facets meet in sharp arrises with no rounding anywhere.
The cut is what does it. Each piece is broken into ten or twelve flat planes of unequal size, angled like the termination of a quartz crystal, so a large face may sit next to two narrow ones and the arris between them runs at a different angle again. Nothing is symmetrical and nothing repeats. Colour is carried in the material rather than on the face, and it is not even: blue dominates and holds the outer parts of each plane, while emerald green gathers in bands and pools, strongest through the middle of the mass. Because each face is polished flat, every one returns a different value of the same two colours, so the object reads as a dozen separate blues at once. On the upright form the planes converge to a blunt point, and on the two flatter forms they run out sideways into a shallow ridge.
These are surface pieces at every size. At 45cm the upright form holds a console or a hall table as a piece on its own, while the two flatter forms lie close to the surface on a desk, a bookshelf or a coffee table. All three want a plain ground under them, because a polished facet picks up whatever is beneath it, and a dark surface deepens the blue considerably. Light from the side is what separates the planes; a downlight puts one bright patch on the top face and flattens the rest. Indoor use only.
Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. These are usually taken as a group of three, since the sizes were designed to stand together. The picker is worth reading carefully because these are three different forms rather than one form scaled: one is upright and the other two are recumbent, and each is priced on its own volume. On the colour: this blue and emerald is standard, and an amber with brown, a clear with grey, and a single deep blue with no second colour are all made on the same cut. The facet count can be raised for a busier surface or cut back to six or seven broad planes, which reads much calmer on the upright form. None of the three is supplied with a base, since a flat facet is the intended footing. Each boulder is boxed on its own with the arrises packed out individually, because a sharp polished corner is the part that suffers in transit, and one person can carry any of the three. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Faceted boulders like these join our abstract sculptures; their cut planes put them among our geometric sculptures, and the blue and emerald casting among our resin sculptures.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
