Blue & Clear Rising Water Column Resin Sculpture - 88cm, a splash-formed water column in blue and clear resin on a small base, shown against a plain white background.
Blue & Clear Rising Water Column Resin Sculpture - 88cm $3,10400
Description

A column of water that rises out of a splash at the foot and breaks apart at the top into clear flames of spray, as if the water had been thrown straight up. The pool it rises from is a vivid blue, ringed by a crown of splash, and the colour climbs the column in streaks before thinning out, so the spray at the top is almost colourless. Narrow where it leaves the pool, the column flares as it rises, its sides rippled and pierced.

Water Thrown Straight Up From a Pool

Upward-moving water has to look as though it is still going, and the way this piece manages it is by letting the column come apart: solid at the base, split into ribbons in the middle, and loose flames of spray at the crown. The blue follows the same rule, deep where the water is massed and thinning where it breaks up. The splash at the foot is spread wide so that the column has a ring of water to rise from, and the ribbons twist slightly as they climb, which is what keeps the column from reading as a vase.

Standing 88cm, it belongs on a low plinth, a sideboard or a console, anywhere it can be seen from eye level or a little above. A pale wall behind it lets the blue read and the spray show its edges. Light from below or behind makes the column glow. At a distance it reads as a blue flame; the ribbons and spray come into focus as you get nearer.

The Column, the Blue and One Crate

Give it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. The order leaves three things to you. The column can be drawn higher and more slender or kept broad, the blue can be taken further up or kept to the pool, and the spray at the crown can be made finer. Draw the column higher and the pool at the foot is spread wider so it stands steadily. One upright crate carries it, and it takes two people to lift it free. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue pool throwing a column of water up into clear flames of spray points to our contemporary and modern sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
