Blue & Clear Graded Block Fan Resin Sculpture, 95cm, a fluted half-ring arch on a black base, graded from deep blue to clear with a crenellated rim, on a plain white background.
Blue & Clear Graded Block Fan Resin Sculpture - 95cm $3,10400
Description

A half-ring of resin standing on two feet over a rounded opening, fluted all over in close ribs that run from the opening out to its rim. That rim is crenellated with squared blocks of uneven height, stepped and slightly out of line with one another. The colour is graded from the ground up: deep blue at both feet, a brighter sky blue through the lower half and colourless resin at the crown, with fine streaks of black ink drawn up through the flutes. A long bar is included and runs past the fan at both ends.

Close Flutes Under a Crown of Squared Blocks

The flutes are what give the arch its movement: each rib runs out from the opening to the edge, so the whole fan seems to spread like a pleated skirt caught in a turn. At the edge the ribs meet the blocks, set at uneven heights and a little out of line, so the crown reads as broken rather than drawn with a compass. The colour works with the height instead of across it, dense where the arch meets the bar and thinning until the top is left as clear as ice, with every block there catching its own highlight. The ink gives that clear upper part a grain, a few dark lines following the ribs outward.

A long sideboard or a console suits it, and it should be seen square on, since from the end the fan closes into a single thin arc and the fluting is lost. Light from behind lifts the clear crown and picks out the blocks one by one, while the blue at the feet stays deep. The bar wants a level run along its whole length. A plain wall behind keeps the dark streaks in the flutes readable from across the room.

The Crown, the Grade and Delivery

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. On the same arch the flutes can be cut finer or broader, the squared blocks along the crown given more weight or less, and the blue graded from the crown instead of the feet. The fan is built at other spans, with the bar cut to whatever the arc comes out at. The black ink can be drawn more heavily through the upper part, kept to a few fine lines or left out for clean colour. Where the grade is not wanted the whole arch is cast in one tint. The fan and its bar are crated together but wrapped away from each other, and two people set them down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Blue rising through close flutes to a clear, crenellated crown ranks this arch among our indoor sculptures, our contemporary and modern sculptures and our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
