Blue & Clear Cube Massed Acrylic Console Table - 170cm $16,67400
Description

Every part of this console table is built from small cubes, and the colour is confined to the top: the uppermost courses of the slab are a strong blue and everything below them is colourless, so from across a room it reads as a blue line held up on two clear masses. The two legs spread as they reach the floor.

Blue Held in the Top Course of Cubes Only

Confining a colour to the top courses means the blue cubes and the clear ones have to be identical in size, and cubes cast in two colours do not come out identical without work: pigment changes how the material behaves, so the blue ones are cut back to the clear ones rather than the other way round. The boundary between the two is then the thing the eye goes to, so it is kept to a single course with no blue cube left stranded below it. The legs spread by stepping each course outward by a fraction, which is what gives them their splay without any face being cut on an angle.

It stands at console height, so this goes where consoles go, and it wants a plain wall: a mass of small cubes turns any pattern behind it into a field of displaced fragments. Side light rakes across the cubes and finds every offset, where a light from directly above flattens them. The blue reads at eye level from across a room, which is the argument for using it in a hall rather than a sitting room.

Cube Size, Colour Depth and Site Assembly

Bespoke commissions take 5–6 weeks; standard pieces take 3–4. Cube size is a decision at order, and it governs the grain of the whole piece rather than its detail. The blue can be run deeper into the slab, taken to the legs, or replaced from the same stock, and a colourless version is available. Length is cut to order. The console arrives as three parts - two legs and a slab - and is brought together on site along the bearing faces at the head of each leg, which is what lets a console of this length come through a normal door. Each leg is a two-person lift and every face travels sleeved. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Blue held in the top courses alone belongs with our acrylic sculptures; legs that splay by stepping each course outward lead to our geometric sculptures, and blue-topped cubes along an entrance hall join our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
