Black & White Ink Swirl Resin Occasional Table - 55cm
Black & White Ink Swirl Resin Occasional Table - 55cm $3,91700
Description

This cast resin occasional table has a round top, dished slightly and thick at the edge, with black and white pigment running through it like ink stirred once into water and then stopped. Those swirls continue into the legs, flat blades set under the rim, each carrying its own share of the same pattern. Where the resin is clear the floor beneath shows through; where the pigment gathers it is solid. No two sections of the pattern repeat.

Ink Running From Top to Leg

The pattern is the piece and it is not confined to the top. Broad swirls of black and opaque white run through the slab and stop short of blending, so the boundaries between pigment and clear material are hard rather than graded. The same pattern continues into the legs, which are flat blades rather than columns precisely so they can carry it: a round leg would show a narrow sliver of the pattern, a blade shows a whole section of it. Where the resin is clear the floor comes through; where the pigment gathers it is solid. No two areas repeat, and the distribution cannot be specified.

It stands level with a seat, which is the height for a lamp, a glass or a few books and not much else. The swirls run through the legs as well as the top, so it should stand clear rather than tucked beside a sofa where the legs cannot be seen. A plain pale floor is what the black reads against; a busy rug fights it directly. Light from any direction works here. Indoors.

The Swirls, the Legs, and What Can Change

Give it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. Most of it is the ink swirls. Three things can change. The pigments are open and can be replaced with any two colours. How much of each goes in is also a choice, though where the swirls fall is not. Whatever top diameter you need is quoted. Neither the top diameter nor the overall height is fixed. Put the whole order in at once and the path the black swirls take carries across every piece. The packing protects the blade legs; moving it wants two people. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Ink stirred through clear resin and left to set belongs among our abstract sculptures; as an occasional table on flat blades it joins our art furniture, and the monochrome swirl suits our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
