Description

An arched back rises between two pilasters carved with flowers, flanked by low wing panels bearing lily reliefs and a pair of urns. A seated cherub rests on each outer corner pedestal, and the whole surround stands on a stepped platform enclosing the plot.

Arched Grave Surround With Corner Cherubs

This is an assembly rather than a carving, and the arch is what governs it. Its curve is struck once and every other element is measured from that line, so the pilasters, the wing panels and the two corner pedestals are all cut to suit the arch rather than to each other. The honey-toned stone is used for the structure and a white marble for the cherubs, panels and urns, which is what keeps the arch reading as the back of the piece.

A grave surround defines the whole plot rather than standing at its head, so it needs a full family grave and a setting-out drawing before anything is bedded. It suits a cemetery avenue, an established churchyard or a private enclosure. Every element sits on one continuous platform, so the ground under the entire footprint has to be prepared together. Confirm what the burial ground permits on surrounds and enclosures first.

Setting Out a Full Grave Surround

Sixteen weeks, and it arrives as a kit rather than a monument. The arch is struck and cut first because everything else is measured from it, then the pilasters, the wing panels, the urns and the pedestals, and the two cherubs last. The arched back is delivered uncut and can take a name, dates or a longer inscription in the lettering you prefer, or be left plain for a local mason. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops. Around 6,126kg across many pieces, all set by crane and bedded onto a prepared concrete foundation.

Other grave surrounds and enclosures sit in headstones and memorials, with the stone under marble headstones.

Production Time

Every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of destination.

  • Sculptures under 50cm — shipped by air freight. Typical delivery 1–2 weeks after production is complete.
  • Sculptures 50cm and above — shipped by sea freight. Typical delivery 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

For larger sculptures where faster delivery is needed, air freight is available at additional cost — contact us before ordering for a quote.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

30-Day Returns

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
