A standing figure of a woman in a wide brimmed hat, her weight through one foot and the skirt drawn out behind her into a single unbroken sweep. Aqua gathers at the brim and again at the hem, and the body between them is left almost clear. A black marble block is supplied and the figure stands on it at one point of the foot.
A figure balanced on one foot is a structural claim, and the aqua at the brim and the hem is there to draw the eye to the two ends of it. The hat and the hem are the two things a viewer reads first and last, which is why the colour is banked at both and allowed to disappear through everything between them. The whole figure bears through the ankle, and the casting has to be heavier there than at any point above it. Polished throughout, which is what lets the colour be read through the body rather than off it.
A hall table or a wide shelf, turned so the skirt sweeps into the room. A plain wall behind, because the clear middle will show whatever is behind it whether you like it or not. Light from the side runs down the skirt and stops at the hem, which is where the colour starts again. The silhouette is what carries, and the graduation only begins to show at a couple of paces.
Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The brim is widened, the aqua is carried through the body, and the skirt is drawn further out behind. Widen the brim and the foot is broadened under it, since the whole figure is balanced on that one contact. A second version is frosted and graduates violet into teal, which takes the figure from something transparent to something solid at one stroke. Block down first, then the figure set on it and left unfixed. One person, taken around the waist and not by the hat. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
For more slender figures of this kind, look through our indoor sculptures; the drawn, windswept line continues in our contemporary and modern sculptures, and aqua and clear castings in our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
