A single sheet folded back on itself the whole way up, standing directly on the floor with no base of any kind under it. One clean aqua through the whole sheet, palest where the sheet turns and the eye passes through least of it, deepest where two thicknesses lie together. Nothing comes under it. The sheet is cut level at the foot and stands on the floor it is set on.
Folding a sheet back on itself is the cheapest way to make one tint produce every tone it is capable of, because each turn doubles what the eye looks through. Each fold doubles the material the eye passes through, so a single tint produces its palest value at the turns and its deepest where two thicknesses coincide. Nothing was added to get the range; the folding did all of it. Folding a sheet back on itself means every turn doubles the material the eye is looking through, so a single tint produces a full range of tone without a second colour anywhere in it. Polished on both faces of every fold, including the inside of the turns, which is where the work is.
This is floor work for a tall room. It has no base at all, so the floor it stands on is part of the piece. A pale ground behind it is best, since the deepest aqua needs somewhere to read against at this size. Light from one side alternates lit and shadowed faces all the way up, which is what makes the folds countable. The folds are countable from the doorway, and the depth of tint inside them only opens up at two or three paces.
It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. The fold count can be changed, the aqua can be exchanged, and a second, smoky colour can be drifted through the folds. Change the fold count and the height goes with it, because each fold keeps its own depth rather than being flattened to hold the height. One tall crate, and nothing to assemble: it is stood up where it is going and that is the whole installation. Three people. It is a broad thin thing and the folds are where it will be gripped wrongly. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A sheet folded back on itself all the way up stands in our indoor sculptures; its zigzag climb belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the sheet as cast goes with our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
