This is a dining chair cast in tinted resin. Back and seat are a single shell. The back rises in soft layered scallops, each one standing slightly proud of the one below, and the seat below is plain and dished. The colour runs the width of the shell rather than its height: a deep amber at one edge, through honey, to a milky cream at the other. Four slim black legs taper to the floor beneath it.
The colour runs across the shell rather than down it, and that is unusual enough to be the point. One edge of the back is a deep amber, the far edge a milky cream, and the passage between them runs through honey without a step anywhere in it, so the chair looks different from the left than from the right. The scalloped layers on the back catch that gradient at each lip, giving a row of bright edges that fade along the run. The seat below is plain, which lets the back carry the whole effect. Four black legs sit under all of it and read as drawn lines rather than as supports.
At 70cm overall it is a chair to sit at a table or to set on its own, and the graded shell gives it a strong side and a quiet side. Set two side by side with the gradients running the same way and they read as a set; turned to face each other they read as a mirror. Either works, but it is worth deciding. A plain floor suits it, and light from one side brings the scalloped lips up in a row. Indoors only.
Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The colour grading is the slow part. You settle three things. Where the two colours meet is the first choice, from this centred passage to a gradient that keeps the amber to one wing alone. The colours themselves are second: amber to cream as here, or green to white, or a single flat tone. And the legs, which can be these black ones or a polished metal, which lifts the chair and reflects the shell above it. You give the seat height and the overall width. Where several are wanted they are made as one lot. One crate, upright, and two people to position it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A scalloped shell shaded from amber to cream gives this dining chair a home in our art furniture; the slim black legs link it to our metal sculptures, while the layered back recalls our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
