A standing figure with the skirt swept back behind it and the upper body opening into a broad flare, on a block of black marble cut to the footprint of the foot. Amber gathers at the foot and gives out as the body rises, so the flare at the top is almost without colour. The black marble block is part of the piece and travels with it.
Putting the colour at the foot and taking it away at the top makes a heavy figure look as though it is lifting, which the form on its own does not do. The design is made at several heights and this is the one where the graduation has room to be seen: at the compact end of the design the change from amber to colourless happens too quickly to read as a change at all, and at the tall end it spreads out and loses its point. Amber concentrated where the body is thickest makes the skirt look heavy and the flare look weightless, which is the opposite of what the form alone would say. Polished over the whole figure, so the swept surfaces carry an unbroken highlight from foot to flare.
A hall table, a sideboard or a broad shelf above waist height. A plain pale ground. A figure this busy in outline needs a quiet wall behind it. Light from one side follows the sweep of the skirt, while a source placed square to the front reduces the body to an outline. The figure reads as a figure from anywhere in a room, and the amber only declares itself within a few paces.
Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. The amber can be carried further up, the flare can be opened wider, and a pale stone block can replace the black one. Carry the amber to the flare and the figure stops looking as though it is lifting, because the weight is then everywhere at once. One crate holds figure and block together, and it arrives assembled. One person. Lift by the block and let the figure travel upright. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Amber gathered at the foot and clearing towards the flare is one of the warmer treatments in our resin sculptures; the swept, windblown line leads on to our contemporary and modern sculptures, and figures sized for a room wait in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
