Amber Stacked Faceted Block Resin Sculpture - 34cm, four angled resin blocks shading from amber to yellow, resting on its lowest block against a plain white background.
Amber Stacked Faceted Block Resin Sculpture - 34cm $2,76700
Description

A stack of amber resin blocks, resting on the lowest of them. Four faceted blocks, each sitting on the one beneath at an angle and each turned further round than the last, the whole stack rising off the lowest of them. Amber at the top yellows steadily toward the foot, so the stack lightens as it comes down. Nothing comes under it. The lowest block in the stack is the foot.

How Far a Block Can Lean

A stack of blocks at angles is a piece about how far a thing can lean before it stops looking deliberate. Every block leans on the one beneath it, and because the whole stack is amber the depth of colour changes wherever the mass gathers, which no drawn line could have shown. No join shows anywhere between the four blocks, so the stack reads as one mass that happens to be faceted rather than as an assembly. Polished on every face, which is how the amber can be seen through four thicknesses at once.

A desk, a bedside or a bookshelf, where it can be looked into. A dark ground makes the amber glow; a pale one washes it out completely. Light entering one block comes out of another, and moving the lamp changes which faces are lit. The colour carries and the stacking does not; from away it is one amber shape.

Opening the Angles, and Delivery

In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. More blocks or fewer are set, the angles are opened, and the amber is taken toward red. Open the angles and the stack spreads instead of climbing, so the footprint is what changes. Four is what the stack is drawn for, and asking for five or for three is a change to the proportion rather than an addition to it. It travels alone in a fitted crate, bedded on the widest face of the lowest block. One person, but it is dense and heavier than its size suggests. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Faceted amber blocks turned against one another sit in our indoor sculptures; the rising, twisting stack belongs to our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the amber-to-yellow casting joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
