The top of this stool is a thick round disc in amber resin, its rim rolled right over into a fat ring around a dished centre, and it is carried on a cluster of bulbous rounded lobes that meet under the middle. The colour goes almost black where the material is deepest at the rim and opens to a clear honey across the dish, so the piece is darkest exactly where it is thickest.
The rim is rolled over in the mould, so the ring around the dish is part of the casting and not a bead applied to it, and the join between the rolled rim and the dished centre is worked back until nothing reads as an edge. The lobes are cast separately and gathered under the middle, and the amber is matched between them and the top so the whole stool reads as one colour. Depth does the rest: the material goes almost black where it is thickest and clear honey where it thins, and that gradation is a property of the section rather than a finish.
Its dished top is level with an ordinary chair seat and will take an adult's weight, and beside an armchair it serves just as well as a low table, holding a tray or a bowl without letting it slide. Each lobe meets the floor on its own, so set it on a firm surface; on a deep pile one lobe would sink before the others and the stool would lean.
Count on the difference between standard and bespoke: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. Most of it is the rolled rim. You settle three things. At order the dish can be hollowed further or flattened out, another tint can replace the amber, and a single central foot can stand in for the lobes. The top diameter and the seat height follow your figures. The group is made as one so that how far the rim rolls over reads the same on each piece. The rolled rim and the lobes are wrapped first when it is crated, and two people lift it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Rolled amber over a cluster of round lobes, this stool is a seat from our art furniture, a soft-edged form for our contemporary and modern sculptures, and an interior piece within our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
