Amber Ribbed Resin Tub Chair - 78cm
Amber Ribbed Resin Tub Chair - 78cm $4,92400
Description

A tub chair cast in translucent amber resin. The shell is one piece: a curved back that wraps forward into two arms and drops to a seat, with a rail beneath and four legs that flare out at the floor. Fine parallel ribs, close set and even, climb the back and roll over its rim, while the seat stays smooth. The amber is pale at the rim and deep gold in the legs.

Fine Ribs Standing Proud of an Amber Shell

Ribbing gives the shell its texture without breaking its outline. It climbs the back in close, regular lines, spreads outward where the rim rolls over, and carries on down the skirt to the floor, while the middle of the seat forms a plain, shallow hollow. In a translucent amber each rib holds its own bright highlight along its length, so the chair reads as a screen of fine lines. The tint changes with depth: almost lemon at the rim, it strengthens to a full gold through the skirt and feet, where the resin is thickest.

With the back rising to 78cm, it sits as a full-sized occasional chair with a proper enclosing tub, not a light side chair. It suits a living room corner, a bedroom by a window, or a wide landing, and it will take an adult comfortably without a cushion, though it accepts one. Place it where light comes past it from the side or behind, because that is when the ribs light up individually and the chair reads as a lantern; lit from the front it goes flat and reads simply as amber. It stands on four feet and needs a hard floor or a firm rug. Indoors only.

The Rib Pattern, and the Depth of the Tub

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. Every rib on the shell is checked and dressed by hand. Two things are open at order. The rib pattern: this close set run, a wider spacing that reads as an open weave, or a plain smooth shell with no ribbing at all. And the depth of the tub, from this enclosing form through to a shallower open back that reads more as a dining chair. Overall height and plan follow your own figures, and a pair is made together so the amber matches. The chair comes in one crate and arrives finished, and two people should carry it through a doorway. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Amber fluted tub seating is collected with our art furniture, suits the settings of our indoor sculptures, and as a translucent cast joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
