Amber Ribbed Arch Cast Resin Stool - 30cm
Amber Ribbed Arch Cast Resin Stool - 30cm $2,36200
Description

The whole stool is one squared arch. Two flat feet stand on the floor, rise vertically, and turn through a generous radius into a flat top, and the section stays the same thickness the whole way round. Every outer surface is cut into fine vertical ribs that follow the curve without breaking, so the light comes off the piece as a series of narrow highlights. The resin is a warm amber, deepest where the ribs are cut and palest along their crests.

Fine Ribs Around a Squared Arch

The stool is a single squared arch of constant section: two flat feet, two vertical runs, and a generous radius into a flat top, with the thickness unvarying the whole way round and no change of clarity at the crown. The ribbing is the other half of the piece. Fine vertical grooves cover the entire outer face and follow the curve without breaking stride, so light comes off the stool as a run of narrow highlights rather than a single sheet. The amber sits in the material, and because each groove presents more material to look through than each crest, the ribs read as alternating pale and dark bands. The inner face is left smooth, which keeps the piece from looking busy.

This is a low stool, below seat height and in the range of a footstool, a plant stand or a place to set a tray down beside a sofa. It also works in a bathroom or a bedroom where something small and solid is wanted. The ribs are the interest and they need raking light rather than overhead light, so beside a window or a low lamp suits it. It is small enough for one person to move and light enough to reposition often. Indoors only.

The Ribs, the Span, and the Order

In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The ribbing is the slow part. Three specifications are yours. The span can be widened, the rib pitch can be opened up or tightened, and the tint is open. The ribs can also be taken round the inner face as well as the outer, which changes the piece considerably and adds to the finishing time. Span and seat height are cut to your figures. If the pitch of the ribs matters across a pair, order the pair rather than the pieces. With the two open ends of the arch crated clear, one person can bring it in. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A ribbed amber arch to sit on joins our art furniture; the simple arch belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the stool with our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
