Amber Petal Shell Cast Resin Bar Stool - 118cm
Amber Petal Shell Cast Resin Bar Stool - 118cm $3,57500
Description

A bar stool with an amber petal shell, raised on a matt black steel column that stands on a wide round foot and carries a ring footrest partway up. The shell is an open form with five lobes, two of them drawn out at the sides. Dark brown swirls run through its amber, gathering at the rim and thinning to a smoke across the middle, and a black height lever sits under the shell at the left.

The Shell at Bar Height, With a Ring to Stand On

This stands at bar height, and the height changes the object rather than merely raising it. The shell sits above eye level for anyone seated nearby, so the underside of the petals becomes a face that is actually seen, and the amber is thinnest there and reads at its brightest. The footring is the other consequence: a stool this tall needs one, and here it is a plain steel ring on four spokes, which puts a second horizontal line into a piece that would otherwise be a shell on a stick. The swirls in the amber behave as they do on the seated shells, densest along the rolled rim and dissolving toward the centre of the back, but seen from below they read as a dark tracery against the light instead of as ink in a pool. The lever under the shell adjusts the height.

At 118cm overall this belongs at a kitchen island, a bar counter or a high reception desk, and a run of two or three reads well because the shells are wide enough to make a rhythm. It turns freely on the column. Give it a plain counter front rather than a busy one, since the shell will take whatever is behind it and hold it in the amber. Light from above catches the rim; light from a window behind it lights the whole shell through. The disc foot needs a hard floor to sit level. Indoors only.

The Colour Route, the Footring, and the Height of the Column

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The seat decides the timescale; the column is standard. Three things are open. The colour route through the shell: brown through amber as here, a grey through clear, or a single colour throughout. The footring, which can stay as here, be dropped for a cleaner column, or be made in brass to break the black. And the column height, since the same shell serves at counter height as well as bar height and the difference is a few centimetres of steel. Gas lift can be specified or left off. Seat size and column height are settled at order. Seat and column arrive apart and bolt together with the key supplied. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

For a counter or kitchen island, this stool joins our art furniture; its petal shell has kin among our organic sculptures, and its black steel column among our metal sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
