This resin sculpture is two carp out of the water, crossing each other at the top of a leap over a low rock. Their bodies are scaled and their fins and tails open wide, and the colour runs from a deep amber-red through the heads and shoulders to almost clear at the edge of every fin. The pair and the rock are one piece, standing on a round base of dark red lacquered acrylic, which gives the whole group its footprint.
Two animals crossing in mid-air is a composition that has to work from every side, because there is no back to a piece that stands on a round base: whichever way it is turned, one fish passes in front of the other and the gap between them changes. That gap is the thing the piece is judged on, and it is set with both fish finished and offered up to each other before either is fixed to the rock. The grade is the other half. It has to be deepest exactly where the two bodies overlap, or the crossing reads as a muddle, so the colour is laid in with the composition already decided rather than fish by fish.
A round base means this is meant to be walked round: a hall table, the middle of a sideboard, a low table with seating on both sides, a reception counter. Give the base a clear margin all round, with nothing crowding it. Light from above catches the fins and puts the rock in shadow, which is the right way up for it; light from below turns the grade upside down and the heads go pale. The lacquered base reads almost black in a dim room.
The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. The grade is settled at order and can run from this amber-red to a green, a blue or a single flat colour, and a colourless pair is made where no grade is wanted. The rock under them can be cut higher for a steeper leap or left out for two fish crossing over open water. The base is made in this lacquered acrylic, in clear acrylic or in black stone. Sizes run up to a floor group. It arrives in one crate with the fins cased and the base packed flat; lift by the rock and not by a fish. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Carp over a rock are lifted at animal sculpture, landed on acrylic sculpture, and returned to classical sculpture.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
