Amber Leaning Slab on Teal Plinth Resin Sculpture - 53cm
Amber Leaning Slab on Teal Plinth Resin Sculpture - 53cm $2,70000
Description

A flat plate of amber resin leaning off a teal upright. The teal upright stands tall and narrow, and the amber slab tips back from it, resting on one corner of its top. The amber is a deep honey, darkening towards brown at its edges, and the teal is clear and bright, paler towards the foot. The teal upright is the base, and nothing further is supplied.

Honey Against Sea Blue

Amber and teal are opposites, warm against cool, and setting one against the other makes each look stronger. The amber slab reads almost solid, a warm plane tipped into the air, while the teal upright below stays glassy and bright. Where the two touch, at a single corner, the colours overlap into a dark, rich line. Each face is taken to a flat polish, with the edges left sharp. The pairing feels both warm and fresh, which makes it easy to place in almost any room.

A desk, a side table or a wide shelf suits it, placed so the lean is seen side-on, in a sitting room or a hallway. It suits warm woods, brass and cream walls, and it brings a flash of cool colour to a warm room. Daylight at one side lifts the teal; lamplight warms the amber. It reads well against a plain wall.

Other Pairings, a Steeper Lean, and Delivery

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. Other colour pairs can be made, amber on clear or red on teal, and the lean can be set steeper or more upright. The amber can also be taken towards brown, or the teal towards blue. Red-on-clear and clear-on-blue versions are sold on their own. It is crated with the slab supported flat; one person sets it down, taking the upright in both hands. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Honey amber tipped against a teal column warms our resin sculptures; the leaning plane on its narrow upright belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures, and warm colour for a hallway is in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
