Amber Graded Shell Resin Gas-Lift Bar Stool - 100cm
Amber Graded Shell Resin Gas-Lift Bar Stool - 100cm $2,36100
Description

This is a gas-lift bar stool with a graded resin shell. The shell is a single moulded piece: a squared back with rounded corners running down into a seat with a deep rolled front, and the whole of it is translucent. The colour grades vertically: almost clear at the top of the back, a strong lime yellow further down, amber at the turn, and a deep red through the seat and its roll. Below it a polished chrome column carries a rectangular footrest and a broad disc foot, with a gas-lift lever under the seat.

The Colour Falls Down the Shell, and Gathers in the Roll

The shell is read from the top down. At the top of the back the material is thin and nearly colourless, so the wall behind shows through it; partway down a lime yellow arrives; and by the time the form turns forward into the seat the colour has passed through amber into a red dense enough to be almost opaque, with the deep roll at the front the darkest part of the whole piece. That gathering in the roll is what makes the stool work, because the roll is also the thickest section and the part closest to the eye of anyone standing beside it. Above, the squared back catches a broad flat highlight that a curved back would break up. The chrome below is fully polished and reflects the floor, the footrest and a compressed version of the shell itself. The stool is priced and supplied singly.

At 100cm to the top of the back with a gas lift, this belongs at a kitchen island, a bar counter or a high reception desk, and it turns freely. A run of three or four along a counter reads as a set of graded lanterns, and because the tops of the backs are nearly clear the run does not block the sightline behind it. Give it a plain counter face rather than a busy one. Light from above lands on the squared back; light from behind sets the red seat glowing. The disc foot wants a hard floor. Indoors only.

The Colourway, the Height, and What the Column Carries

Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. The colour is the first choice: a shell can grade from clear into a tint, pass from one tint into another, or carry a single tint from crest to roll. The second is the height, since the same shell serves at counter height as well as bar height and the gas lift covers a range within that. The third is the column, which can be this polished chrome, a brushed stainless or a matt black, with the footrest kept or dropped. Shell size and column height are quoted separately. Each stool travels in its own crate, shell fitted to the column, and one person can carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Swivelling seats with a sculptural shell are gathered in our art furniture; for tinted castings see our resin sculptures, and for chrome and steel our metal sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
