This cast resin sculpture is a horse's head turned down and slightly in, with the mane lifting back and up behind it in one heavy sweep. It is amber throughout, but not evenly: the neck and the foot are a deep marmalade, the face lightens to gold at the muzzle, and the mane pales steadily until its crest is almost white. The whole piece sits on a small turned foot of the same material.
On a standing animal the warm end of a grade goes at the top, where the head is; here the head is the whole piece, so the grade has to run the other way and that is harder to make look natural. Deep colour at the bottom of an object reads as weight, which is what the neck and foot want, but it also pulls the eye down and away from the mane, so the transition is set high, above the eye rather than at the cheekbone, and the pale end is carried right out to the crest. Where it falls is decided with the piece upright and seen from across the room, not on a bench. The mane takes as long again. It is one broad crest swept up and back, and the pale colour there shows every tool mark that a deep amber would swallow, so its long curve is polished in single unbroken passes.
A head reads from the front and three-quarters and loses a great deal in profile, so set it facing the way people come in: a console, a desk, a hall chest, a shelf at chest height. This amber asks to be lit from behind rather than from in front. In front of a window the neck glows and the mane goes nearly white, which is the best of it; a downlight leaves the whole head one flat tone. Against a white wall the grade reads at full strength, and against a warm one it disappears.
Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. Where the grade falls is set at order, and it can be reversed so the mane is the deep end, held to a single amber, or replaced by a clear head with no colour at all. Other colours are made the same way in a rose, a green and a smoke. The foot comes turned as here, squared, or in a black stone. For a pair, a head turned the other way can be cut, and any scale is made to order. Head and foot arrive joined in one fitted crate. Nothing needs doing to it on arrival, and it is placed by one person holding the neck and not the mane. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A horse head that pales from deep amber to a cream crest belongs with our horse sculptures; a broad mane swept up in a single crest leads to our animal sculptures, and colour that pales towards the top joins our resin sculptures.

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
