Description

This side table has a round top of amber-tinted tempered glass resting on two clear panels that cross at right angles beneath it. All of the colour is in the top: the panels are left colourless, so from a seat the amber disc appears to hover above a cross of clear planes, its deeper edge marking the rim. From above, the cross shows through the glass as two faint lines. At 55cm it sits at the height of a sofa arm, within easy reach of a seated hand.

An Amber Top Over a Cross of Clear Panels

With the colour confined to the top, the glass carries the whole effect, so it is tinted through its thickness rather than coated, and its edge is ground square and polished to show the amber at its richest. The two panels are cut to meet exactly where they cross at the centre, and their top edges are finished level so the glass rests evenly without rocking. Clear panels show every mark, which is why both of their faces are polished and they are handled with gloves until the table is assembled.

Set by an armchair, a sofa or a bed, the table gives a lamp or a glass a warm amber ground without adding any visual weight below it. Against a pale floor its clear panels all but vanish, leaving a compact room feeling uncluttered. Amber reads warmest in daylight and over timber; against cool grey walls it becomes the one warm note in the room.

Glass Tint, Panel Colour and Arrival

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. Instead of amber the top can be cut clear, bronze-tinted or smoked, and colour can be added to the panels where it is wanted below as well as above. A different height can be made for a particular chair or bed. The glass travels in a case of its own, separate from the panels, and it is lowered straight down onto them by two people rather than slid across their edges. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Clear crossed panels under an amber glass disc belong with our acrylic sculptures; a side table that keeps its base colourless leads to our art furniture, and warm amber glass at a sofa's elbow joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
