An amber trough cut to flats and open along the top. The outside is faceted hard and the inside is left as one continuous curve, so the material between them reads as thick. The amber is palest at the top corners and deepest through the belly. A slab of black marble beneath it comes with the trough, setting the amber against a dark ground.
Cutting flats into a solid mass and cutting them into an open one are different jobs, because an open form has an inside that the flats cannot reach. The outside here is faceted hard and the inside is left as a single continuous curve, and that contrast is the piece. Faceting both would have produced a bowl that looked machined out of a block; leaving both smooth would have produced a trough. What the arrangement does is make the material read as thick: the eye sees a cut, angular exterior and a smooth interior and concludes that there is a great deal of amber between them, which at the corners there genuinely is. The colour follows the same logic. It is palest at the top corners, where the cutting has taken most away, and deepest through the belly, where the section is heaviest and the curve is uninterrupted.
At 43cm it is a table or console piece and is meant to be looked into, so a low surface suits it better than a high one. It wants light from above, which is unusual in this group: the interior is the smooth part and an overhead light runs down the curve while a side light leaves half the trough dark. The stone beneath needs a level surface and the piece should be given a clear margin on the open side.
Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. The trough is drawn deeper, the flats are cut finer, and the amber is lifted toward honey. The interior is also cut rather than left smooth, which removes the contrast the design depends on, and is worth a look first. The trough is drawn at other spans on this stone. A frosted finish is offered and suits the faceted outside better than the curved inside. It ships in a single crate, resting on its underside rather than on the rim with the stone boxed apart, and the casting is a one-person lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A trough cut to flats belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures; amber palest at its corners leads to our resin sculptures, and an amber vessel shape for a low coffee table joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
