This cast resin lounge chair has a shell that opens like a fan. From a narrow waist it flares outward and upward, rising into two points at the top corners with a shallow sweep between them, so the back and the arms are the same surface. Below the waist a fluted pedestal foot spreads to the floor. The resin runs from a clear honey at the centre of the shell to a strong orange banked along its whole edge, deepest at the two points. A deep red satin cushion sits in the seat and a second, quilted into three panels, rests against the back.
The shell is a single surface doing three jobs. It is the back, it is both arms, and it is the outer wall of the seat, and it changes from one to the next without a corner or a join. From the waist it flares out and up to two points at the top, and the sweep between them is shallow enough to sit against. Colour is banked: a clear honey through the middle of the shell, a strong orange along its entire edge, concentrated at the two points, so the outline of the chair is drawn in a darker tone than its faces. The pedestal foot below is fluted and spreads wide, which is what keeps a chair with no back legs stable. The cushions are separate, in a deep red satin, and the back one is quilted into three panels.
At 80cm high this is a lounge chair and it needs to be seen from the front, so a position facing into a room suits it and a corner does not. The shell is wide at the top and will not push in against a wall without losing its shape. The amber edge and the red cushions are a strong pairing and will set the palette of a room, so plain company is better than patterned. The pedestal foot needs a clear circle of floor and a level surface. Indoors only.
Count on the difference between standard and bespoke: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The fan shell sets the pace here. You settle three things. The shell is tinted to your choice and the banking along the edge can be set stronger or lighter. The cushions are covered in a fabric you select, and the back cushion can be supplied plain rather than quilted. Seat height and overall width are cut to your figures. For a matching group, the orange banked into the shell edge is set once and carried through it. Packed with the two shell points and the cushions shielded, it needs four people at the door. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A shell that opens like a fan over a fluted foot belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures; as lounge seating it joins our art furniture, and facing into a sitting room it takes its turn among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
