Two posts in pale amber acrylic carry this standing frame on flat rectangular base plates, and a single rail runs between them, passing through a cross-lap cut at the head of each post and projecting a short way beyond both. There is no infill of any kind, so what you get is an outline rather than a panel. It is priced as one frame.
A cross-lap is the whole of the joint, and in a colourless-bodied amber it has nowhere to hide. Each post is cut through square to take the rail, and the rail is cut back to the same depth in the other direction, so the two halves interlock and finish flush on all four faces. Any slack shows as a line of light at the shoulder, and any tightness whitens the amber along the cut, so the fit has to be right first time. The base plates are thick enough to hold the posts upright without bracing, which is what keeps the outline clean at floor level. All six faces of each plate are polished, the one lying on the floor included, since a translucent body shows its own underside from above.
An outline rather than a panel means this divides a space without closing it, so it earns its keep in an entrance, at the end of a run of cupboards, or across a corner of a large room. Amber wants light behind it: with a window or a lamp beyond, the posts and rail glow along their whole length, and against a dark wall they read as a drawn line. Two frames set a short way apart make a colonnade. Keep the base plates clear of a rug edge so both stand level.
A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. Span and post spacing are set to your opening, and the rail can be run past the posts by as much or as little as you want. Height is cut to order. Other tints are drawn from the same sheet stock and a colourless version is available. A second rail can be added nearer the floor, which turns the outline into a two-bar frame. Posts, rail and plates travel flat as four items and assemble on site through the cross-laps, so nothing arrives at full height and a normal stair is enough. One person can carry the parts. Two are wanted for the assembly, since the rail has to be entered into both posts together. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A rail passed through the head of each post belongs with our acrylic sculptures; an amber outline rather than a panel leads to our geometric sculptures, and a divider that leaves a room open joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
