Description

An upright panel of deep amber resin, thick and rectangular, with a raised border running round its face like the frame of a picture with nothing in it. The colour is darker at the edges and clearer across the middle, so the centre seems to glow, and where light catches the foot the amber turns a bright orange. It stands on its own on its narrow foot.

A Raised Border Round Deep Amber

A panel this simple depends on its proportions and its colour. The raised border gives the face a frame, so the eye reads the amber within it as a window of colour rather than a slab, and the colour has depth, darker toward the edges and lighter across the face. Every surface is polished, so the border catches a fine line of highlight along each side. Nothing is carved or added; the panel is all colour and edge. The colour does the work that carving would do on stone.

A low cabinet, a sideboard or a long console all suit it, and stood in front of a window it turns the daylight behind it to the colour of stained glass. Two or three side by side make a screen of colour along a long plain wall, and on its own it gives a white or grey room a single warm note.

Colour, Border Depth and a Firm Crate

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. The panel can be made in another colour, ruby, sea green, smoke or clear, and the border made deeper, narrower or left off altogether for a plain slab, and the faces frosted for a softer glow. A matching pair can be made for either end of a sideboard. It is crated flat with its faces protected, and once unpacked it stands on its own without fixing. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A deep amber panel framed by its own border belongs with our abstract sculptures; a thick slab of glowing resin suits our resin sculptures, and a window of colour for a sideboard top joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
