Amber & Gold Veiltail Fish Resin Sculpture - 72cm
Amber & Gold Veiltail Fish Resin Sculpture - 72cm $3,10200
Description

This cast resin fish is all movement: the body is a warm amber, and the tail and fins stream out from it as long veils that pass from amber through clear to frosted edges. Gold leaf catches on the head and along the peaks of the fins, so the brightest points of the piece are its outermost ones. It stands on a low pad of the same amber resin, which carries the whole composition.

Gold Catching on the Crests of Amber Veils

Each veil is thin and broad and bends two ways, so the amber thins with it: deep in the body, honey in the middle of each veil and clear toward the frosted edges. Gold leaf is set at the head and along the crests of the fins, where it catches light first and draws the eye outward. Each edge is softened along its whole length, since a sharp edge in clear resin would flash white. No two fish take the gold in quite the same places, so each one is its own.

At 72cm the fish wants a broad shelf, a sideboard or a low chest seen from a little above, where every veil can be seen together. Light from behind does the most for it, turning the amber to glowing honey and setting the gold alight. Give it room on every side, because the veils spread far beyond the body.

Amber, Gold and Moving It Safely

Count on the difference between standard and bespoke: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The amber can be taken deeper toward cognac or paler toward honey, and silver leaf can replace the gold. The veils can be shortened or drawn out further, and scale is cut to order. A smoke or a green can replace the amber, with the gold kept. It is crated with every veil braced along its length, and two people should set it down, holding it under the body. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

An amber fish with gold on its crests belongs with our figurative sculptures; veils of fin flowing out to frosted edges lead to our organic sculptures, and honey resin touched with gold joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
