A narrow upright acrylic sculpture, triangular in profile, so it is a front with two returns behind it rather than a block with four sides, and the front itself is cut into long triangular and four-sided planes that climb to a single point. Acid green runs across nearly its whole width and the arrises run yellow where the film is seen at its steepest, while the planes at its foot break into amber, a deep wine red and violet. From behind there is almost nothing to it: the two returns meet at a fine vertical edge.
A shard has a front and no back, and the stability has to come out of the foot instead of out of the mass. A block resists being pushed over because its weight sits over a wide base; a shard has neither the weight nor the width, so what keeps it up is the DEPTH of the flat it stands on and how square that flat is to the lean of the front plane. That flat is cut last, after the profile is settled, and it is cut to a tolerance the rest of the piece is not held to - a fraction out and the shard stands with a list that reads as damage rather than as design. The returns are kept as thin as the material allows for the same reason: everything taken off the back is weight removed from where it would work against the foot.
At 40cm it is shelf and desk work, and it wants a wall or a plain field close behind it, because the back of a shard is not the view: a bookshelf, a mantel, a windowsill or the end of a console, set square to how it will be seen. It has a right way round, and that is with its front to the room. Light from in front and a little above fills the front and puts the arrises in relief; light from behind turns it into a dark outline and the green goes out altogether.
Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. The foot is what paces this build, since it is cut last and to the finest tolerance in the piece. The profile, the lean and the film are settled per commission, so a shard standing more upright, one cut broader across the front, or one leaning further over can all be made from this design. The film runs from this acid green through a blue-to-violet and a gold-to-rose, and it can be applied to the returns alone so the front stays clear. Any width is cut to the front plane you want. It is stood up by its foot and turned to face the room, never lifted by the point. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A shard with a front and no back sits with geometric sculpture; its dichroic face is acrylic sculpture; and the colour survives where indoor sculpture is kept.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
