Metal Wall Art

Metal is the material that does most with a wall. It catches light rather than absorbing it, casts its own shadow, and changes through the day as the room does. That is why a metal panel reads as an object in the room rather than a picture hung on it, and why it holds a large wall that a print would be lost on.

Our range is built around worked metal in every treatment we can get out of it. Brushed and polished stainless steel, hand-forged wrought iron, hammered and folded sheet, precision-cut discs, woven wire, and mosaics laid up from hundreds of small tiles. A good share of the collection combines metal with something softer, so you will find steel set against stone, leather, timber and cast acrylic, which is where the depth in these pieces comes from. For the ironwork specifically, see our iron art and wrought iron wall decor.

The character of the range is modern and largely non-representational. Most pieces are abstract, and roughly half are built on geometry, whether that is a repeating tile, a radial disc or a lattice. Gold and white dominate, with black, blue and green running through in quantity, so there is usually a version of a design in the tone a room needs. Almost every piece is dimensional rather than flat, which is why so much of the collection also sits within our 3D wall art and abstract art ranges.

Scale is where this collection earns its keep. Most pieces run between 80cm and 130cm, and a substantial number pass 160cm, so a single work can carry a stairwell, a boardroom or a double-height hall. Smaller panels group well in threes. These are made for interiors and read best in living rooms, offices and hallways under directional light. If you want the same effect fully in the round, our wall sculptures project further from the wall, and for exterior positions see outdoor wall art and decor, which is selected for weather exposure.

Every piece of metal wall art we make is handcrafted to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping.
