The Monumental Traditional Sea Captain Bronze Sculpture stands at an imposing 320cm, depicting a uniformed captain gripping a full ship's helm wheel with both hands, his body pitched forward in the unmistakable effort of holding course against wind and swell. Every detail of the nautical uniform, the peak of the captain's cap, the spoke-by-spoke casting of the helm, and the angled granite plinth beneath his feet reinforces the sense of weight, motion, and maritime authority.
This piece is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, which allows the foundry to capture the fine grain of the uniform fabric, the tension in the figure's forearms, and the mechanical detail of the steering wheel with exceptional fidelity. The surface carries a dark brown to near-black patina, applied and worked by hand to achieve a consistent, gallery-grade tone across the figure and helm. The result is a monumental bronze figure sculpture that holds its presence equally under interior lighting and in full outdoor light.
The large rectangular granite plinth is finished in a dark grey speckled stone, subtly angled to suggest a ship deck under motion. A bronze dedication plaque panel is set into the front face of the plinth, available for custom inscription. At 750kg and 320cm in height, this sculpture is suited to grand civic spaces, waterfront promenades, hotel entrance atriums, corporate headquarters, or large private estates. The dark patina reads well against pale stone, rendered brick, glass, and steel.
Patina options include warm mid-brown, verde green, and blackened finishes. The scale can be adjusted to suit your installation footprint, and the dedication plaque can carry a name, coordinates, or any text of your choosing, inspired by the tradition of the work of commemorative bronze portraiture. If you require structural engineering drawings or installation support for civic placement, contact us before ordering so we can prepare the appropriate documentation.
