The Monumental Manjushri Seated Bronze Sculpture stands at an imposing 300cm, presenting the Tibetan Buddhist deity of wisdom in full ceremonial grandeur: seated in lotus position on a tiered throne, right arm raised bearing the flaming sword of wisdom, left hand held in the teaching gesture at chest level.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this sculpture is finished entirely by hand across multiple stages. The body and face carry rich gold leaf gilding, applied with precision over a prepared bronze surface to achieve the luminous warmth characteristic of Tibetan sacred art. The robes and tiered lotus throne are worked in a deep reddish-brown patina, contrasted by gold bead detailing along the lower register. Vivid blue and red painted accents define the crown ornaments and the flame of the sword, rendered in polychrome bronze finishing consistent with the iconographic tradition. Four arms are articulated in full relief, each carrying its own gesture and ornament; an elaborate jewelled crown, beaded necklaces, and decorative foliate flanking elements complete the composition.
At 300cm and 800kg, this is a work conceived for significant interior spaces: cathedral-scale entrance halls, institutional lobbies, private meditation rooms of generous proportion, or dedicated gallery plinths. The gilded and polychrome finish responds to warm directional lighting, deepening the contrast between the burnished gold surfaces and the reddish-brown robe patina. Given the iconographic richness and interior finish, this piece is recommended for covered indoor installation.
The gilding intensity, patina tone, and painted accent palette can all be adjusted to suit a specific setting or commission brief. Scaled versions, from intimate altar-height pieces to full monumental installations matching or exceeding the standard 300cm, are available. We also accept fully bespoke commissions inspired by the work of classical Tibetan sculptural traditions. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements.
