Monumental Contemporary Crab and Companion Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, large crab with raised claws beside a smaller crab, dual-tone patina finish.
Monumental Contemporary Crab and Companion Bronze Sculpture - 300cm $133,54700
Description

The Monumental Contemporary Crab and Companion Bronze Sculpture stands 300cm tall and presents two crabs at dramatically contrasting scales: a dominant large crab frozen in an aggressive forward stance, claws raised and spread wide, with a smaller companion crab positioned at ground level before it. The composition commands attention through sheer physical presence and an almost confrontational energy.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished with Dual-Tone Patina

Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this sculpture is rendered in solid cast bronze and hand-finished to an exceptional degree of anatomical detail. Every joint in the articulated legs, every serrated edge along the claw fingers, and the textured relief of the carapace has been worked by hand before the patination process is applied. The result is a rich dark brown-black body finish with warm golden-bronze highlights concentrated on the claw tips and underbelly, a contrast that reads as dramatically at distance as it does up close. This is monumental bronze sculpture executed with the precision of a gallery piece.

At 300cm and 1,000kg, this is a work for serious exterior schemes: waterfront plazas, corporate forecourts, coastal estates, harbourside developments, or large institutional gardens. The dark granite plinth base grounds the composition and provides a clean visual anchor. The dual-tone patina holds well in exposed conditions, and bronze as a material ages with distinction outdoors, developing a natural living surface over time.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

The patina can be adjusted across a spectrum from a lighter warm bronze to a deeper verdigris green. Scale can be modified for smaller forecourts or domestic settings. Bespoke commissions are welcome, including single-crab versions or alternative base formats. Contact us before ordering to discuss site requirements, delivery logistics, and any customisation.
