The Monumental Abstract Face Fragment Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 250cm, presenting an oversized stylised human face rendered in a fragmented, mask-like form. Tilted upward on its low rectangular plinth, the piece arrests attention through its sheer scale and the raw, irregular silhouette that traces an incomplete, torn-edge profile across its upper and lateral boundaries.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this sculpture is finished entirely by hand to achieve its smooth dark bronze surface with a near-black patina. Subtle highlights emerge on the raised planes of the nose, brow, and partial lips, giving the face a quietly luminous quality against the deep tonal ground. The texture reads as both ancient and rigorously contemporary, a quality that comes only from skilled hand-chasing at each stage of finishing. Monumental bronze casting of this calibre requires multiple pours, careful seam removal, and meticulous surface treatment before the patination process begins.
At 250cm and 450kg, this is a piece conceived for significant architectural settings. It suits large entrance halls, atrium spaces, corporate lobbies, and open landscaped gardens equally well. Its near-black and bronze colour palette pairs with pale stone, raw concrete, dark steel, and mature planting. The closed, downcast eyes of the face give the work an interior, meditative quality that reads with equal conviction indoors or out.
Patina options include warm mid-brown, verde green, oxidised black, and natural unsealed bronze. Scale variants can be discussed for site-specific installations. This composition is also available as an inspired-by commission drawn from the work of Igor Mitoraj for clients seeking a closer reference point.
