The Monumental Abstract Martial Arts Figure Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 280cm, presenting a highly abstracted human form with dramatically swept, horizontal wing-like arm extensions that carve through space with raw kinetic force. The faceless, broad-headed figure leans forward in a posture drawn from martial movement, its silhouette simultaneously ancient and radically modern.
This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax process, which preserves every deliberate mark left during the modelling stage. The result is a rough-hewn, dark charcoal patina covering the entire surface, with coarse tool marks and textural variation that read differently across changing light conditions. Far from a polished finish, the surface here is intentional and structural, giving the bronze the weight and presence of something excavated rather than manufactured. This is monumental bronze sculpture in its most direct, uncompromising form.
At 280cm and 400kg, this work is suited to large-scale outdoor settings where it can be read from a distance: institutional plazas, corporate forecourts, private estate grounds, and public gardens. The dark patina holds well against stone, concrete, and mature greenery. It requires a firm, load-bearing base; a poured concrete plinth is the recommended mounting approach for permanent installation.
The charcoal patina shown is the default finish. We can apply a warm natural bronze, oxidised green, or custom aged treatment depending on your installation environment. Scale can be adjusted on commission. This form also lends itself to bespoke interpretations inspired by the work of contemporary abstract figurative sculptors working in the martial arts tradition. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements.
