Life-Size Traditional Lioness and Cub Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, 110cm, shown recumbent with cub draped across her back, warm brown patina.
Life-Size Traditional Lioness and Cub Bronze Sculpture - 110cm $80,55200
Description

The Life-Size Lioness and Cub Bronze Sculpture stands 110cm tall, presenting a full-scale recumbent lioness with head raised in quiet alertness, her young cub draped across her back in a composition of unhurried, natural ease. The pairing captures a precise moment of maternal calm without sentimentality.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This piece is cast in solid bronze using the traditional lost-wax method, the same process employed by foundry sculptors for centuries. The surface carries a warm brown patina with subtle tonal variation across the musculature, allowing the contours of the lioness's shoulders, haunches, and ribcage to read clearly at every angle. The cub's softer, rounder form provides deliberate contrast. Across the face of the adult, the brow, muzzle, and eye sockets are worked with close anatomical attention. This is a life-size bronze lion sculpture built to hold its presence at ground level without a raised plinth.

At 750kg, this is a monument-weight casting intended for permanent outdoor installation. It suits estate lawns, wildlife park entries, safari lodge terraces, botanical garden paths, and large private gardens where scale is part of the brief. The warm bronze tone reads well against stone, gravel, grass, and dark-stained timber. It requires no protective coating and will weather into a richer, deeper patina outdoors over time.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

The default finish is warm brown patina as shown. We can also supply this large bronze lioness statue in verde green, dark black-brown, or a natural unsealed finish for accelerated outdoor weathering. Custom scale is available: we can produce smaller maquette versions for indoor settings or scale up for monumental public commissions. If you require a specific patina, modified pose, or dedicated base plinth, contact us before ordering and we will confirm feasibility and revised lead times.

Delivery to Your Address

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
