Life-Size Heraldic Roaring Lions Bronze Sculpture Pair by Giant Sculptures, seated upright on decorative spheres atop square plinths in dark antique patina.
Life-Size Heraldic Roaring Lions Bronze Sculpture Pair - 270cm $135,25600
Description

The Life-Size Heraldic Roaring Lions Bronze Sculpture Pair stands at an imposing 270cm, presenting two mirror-image guardians seated upright, each pressing a front paw onto a large relief-banded decorative sphere, mouths open wide in a commanding roar.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished in Dark Antique Patina

Each lion is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which captures the extraordinary depth of the heavily detailed flowing manes, the exposed teeth, and the scrolling surface of the decorative orbs beneath their paws. The finish is a dark antique bronze patina: deep black settles into the recessed areas of the mane and facial structure while warm brown tones lift the raised surfaces, producing a high-contrast sculptural presence that reads powerfully from distance. The square plinths, each dressed with a moulded decorative frieze around the apron, are cast as part of the same bronze composition, ensuring visual and material continuity throughout the pair.

At 270cm and 750kg per lion, these sculptures are built for grand architectural settings. They suit the entrance gates of country estates, the forecourts of corporate headquarters, civic plazas, and wide gallery or atrium spaces. The dark antique finish sits naturally against stone facades, rendered walls, and formal hedged approaches. Equally, placed flanking internal double doors or at the foot of a monumental staircase, they carry the same authority indoors. The heraldic symmetry of the pair demands an axis: a central pathway, a doorway, a threshold of significance.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the dark antique shown, including verdigris, natural brown, and polished gold highlight variations. The sculpture can also be scaled to suit specific architectural proportions or commissioned as a single figure rather than a pair. For commissions inspired by the work of traditional heraldic sculptors of the European classical period, we welcome detailed briefs. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

30-Day Returns

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
