Life-Size Contemporary Military Nurse and Wounded Soldier Bronze Sculpture - 280cm $63,79800
Description

The Life-Size Military Nurse and Wounded Soldier Bronze Sculpture stands 280cm tall, presenting a three-figure narrative group of extraordinary emotional and compositional weight. A kneeling nurse leans attentively over a wounded soldier lying supine on a detailed bronze stretcher, while a helmeted combat soldier gestures with purpose beside her, the three figures locked together in a triangular scene of urgency, care, and solidarity.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, every surface of this large bronze memorial sculpture is refined by hand. The figures carry a warm mid-brown patina across their broad planes, with subtle green oxidation settling into the recessed folds of uniform fabric, the stretcher poles, and the nurse's period dress. That layered finish gives the piece the gravity of a genuine commemorative bronze group, not a reproduction. The helmeted soldier's belt equipment, the nurse's fitted uniform, and the supine figure's posture are rendered with the kind of specificity that rewards prolonged, close attention.

At this scale, the sculpture commands institutional or civic settings: a war memorial courtyard, a hospital entrance, a university quad, or a large formal garden. The angled wedge-shaped granite plinth is integral to the design, tilting the stretcher scene forward so the viewer is drawn immediately into the composition. Inside, a double-height atrium, an exhibition hall, or a grand entrance foyer provides the ceiling clearance and floor presence the piece requires.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

Patina options include natural verde, dark brown, and black-bronze finishes. The piece can be scaled for specific site requirements, or the composition can be adapted as a bespoke commemorative commission, for example with modified uniform details or a custom dedicatory plaque integrated into the plinth. If you have a particular site, institution, or memorial context in mind, contact us before ordering and we will guide the process from the first conversation.
