The Life-Size Contemporary Fragmentary Traveller Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 220cm, depicting a suited male figure mid-stride in quiet purpose, briefcase in hand, his mid-torso deliberately absent in a striking sculptural void that reads as both loss and forward motion.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this life-size bronze figure sculpture carries a nuanced mixed patina: warm beige and cream tones across the upper body and clothing detail graduate into a rich, deep brown on the briefcase and lower portions. Every crease of the shirt, the weight of the trouser break over the shoe, and the worn handle of the case have been resolved with a realism that rewards close inspection. The deliberate absence of the torso is not a flaw but a studied decision, one that gives the piece its conceptual weight. This is handcrafted contemporary bronze art operating at the intersection of figurative precision and philosophical abstraction.
At 220cm and 180kg, the piece commands space. It suits wide-entrance foyers, boardroom lobbies, hotel atria, or an open garden terrace where it can be encountered at distance and then moved toward. The warm patina tones sit comfortably against stone, polished concrete, dark timber, and mature planting. Fully weatherproof and self-draining in form, it performs equally well indoors and outside.
We offer a range of patina options from verde green and aged dark bronze through to polished warm gold tones. The scale can be adjusted to suit your specific installation, and the base can be modified from the minimal circular plinth shown. For clients interested in a fully bespoke commission, including portrait likeness or alternative pose, this piece was inspired by the work of Bruno Catalano. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements and we will advise on the most suitable approach.
