The Life-Size Contemporary Ballerina Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 190cm, capturing a young dancer frozen in a moment of quiet poise: weight transferred onto one pointed foot, arms resting softly at her sides, tutu fanning out in layered bronze, hair set in a neat bun.
This figure is produced using the lost-wax casting method, a process that preserves every delicate surface detail from the original sculpted model. The hand-finished bronze carries a warm mid-brown patina, with darker tones worked into the recessed folds of the tutu and the fine facial modelling. The result is a surface that reads as both technically precise and alive to the light. The ballet slippers, complete with ankle ribbon detail, and the sculpted texture of each tutu layer are resolved with the kind of clarity only hand-finishing achieves. The life-size bronze ballerina is presented on an irregular oval natural stone base with mottled brown and grey tones, low-profile and organically shaped, which anchors the figure without competing with it.
At this scale and with its composed, interior quality, the piece works equally well outdoors in a courtyard, garden terrace, or entrance garden, and indoors within a double-height hallway, gallery space, or atrium. Its warm bronze palette complements natural stone floors, pale render, dark hardwood, and aged brick with equal confidence.
We offer alternative patina finishes including dark brown, verde green, and black oxidised bronze. The figure can also be produced at a modified scale or adapted as part of a bespoke multi-figure composition. This sculpture draws on a tradition of contemporary figurative casting inspired by the work of Edgar Degas. Contact us before ordering to discuss any customisation requirements.
