Giant Sculptures' Life-Size Classical Seated Pietà Bronze Sculpture in warm golden-brown patina, showing the veiled female figure cradling the male figure, on a plain grey background.
Life-Size Classical Seated Pietà Bronze Sculpture - 160cm $28,24000
Description

The Life-Size Classical Seated Pietà Bronze Sculpture stands at 160cm and presents one of the most recognised compositions in Western figurative art: a robed, veiled female figure seated with the limp body of a male figure resting across her lap, her gaze lowered and one hand extended open in grief.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This life-size bronze Pietà statue is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, which captures the full depth of the composition: the weighted fall of the male figure's upper body, the loose hang of his arm, the wound detail on his hands, and the layered drapery of the female figure's hooded robes. The surface carries a warm golden-brown patina with subtle tonal variation in the recessed folds of the cloth, lending each cast a depth that flat finishes cannot achieve. The sculpture sits on a low circular dark granite base, visually grounding the two-figure group without interrupting the flow of the composition.

As a large bronze figurative sculpture, this piece suits formal gardens, memorial spaces, private chapels, mausolea, and heritage interiors. The warm bronze tones sit well against pale stone, dark basalt, and clipped hedging. It performs equally indoors in high-ceilinged galleries, entrance halls, or contemplative spaces where scale and gravity are required. The piece has been photographed in a cemetery setting, which reflects its frequent use in memorial contexts, but its craft and presence are equally at home in secular architectural environments.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

The patina can be adjusted to suit your setting: cooler brown-blacks, darker antique finishes, or a lighter golden tone are all available on request. Scale modifications are possible for commissions that require a larger or more compact format. This composition has also been produced as a bespoke funerary or memorial commission inspired by the work of classical European sculptors in this tradition. Contact us before ordering to discuss finish, scale, or placement requirements.
