The Life-Size Classical Roaring Male Lion Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 210cm, rendered in full anatomical detail with a wide-open roar, a densely flowing mane, and four feet planted firmly across a naturalistic rocky oval base. At 850kg, this is a piece that occupies space with genuine authority.
Cast using the lost-wax method, every element of this life-size bronze lion statue is resolved with the precision that only hand-finishing allows. Individual strands of mane, the contour of each claw, the ridged texture of the tongue within the open mouth, all carry the definition that distinguishes a cast bronze original from a reproduction. The surface carries a rich dark brown patina with warm reddish-brown tones across the body, deepening to green verdigris oxidation across the base terrain. This is the natural character of patinated cast bronze, and it deepens further with outdoor exposure over time.
At 210cm, this sculpture is scaled for spaces that can absorb it: the entrance hall of a country estate, a corporate atrium, a grand staircase landing, a formal courtyard, or an open garden terrace. The classical pose, forward-facing with head tilted upward in a roar, reads well from a distance and holds detail close. It suits stone floors, dark hardwood, aged brick, and formal clipped hedging equally. Bronze is fully weatherproof and requires no sheltering outdoors.
The standard finish is the dark brown and verdigris patina shown. We also offer polished golden bronze, satin mid-brown, and full black oxidation finishes. The scale can be adjusted: a courtyard or interior version at 150cm or a monumental 250cm commission are both achievable. If you have a specific site in mind, contact us before ordering and we will advise on base configuration and anchoring. Artist reference for this composition is inspired by the work of classical European animalier sculptors of the 19th century.
