Life-Size Classical Foot-Washing Scene Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, showing a kneeling figure washing the feet of a seated bearded man on a reddish-brown plinth.
Life-Size Classical Foot-Washing Scene Bronze Sculpture - 200cm $33,02700
Description

The Life-Size Classical Foot-Washing Scene Bronze Sculpture stands 200cm tall and presents one of the most quietly powerful narrative compositions in figurative bronze art: a kneeling figure bent low over a basin, washing the feet of a seated, bearded figure who leans gently forward, one hand extended. The two figures face each other in close proximity, their arrangement conveying humility and service without a single word of explanation.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This life-size bronze sculpture is produced using the lost-wax casting method, the same technique that has defined fine sculptural bronzes for millennia. Each surface is hand-finished after casting, with smooth and semi-detailed modelling across the figures' robes, hands, and faces. The dark warm-brown patina deepens in the recessed folds of draped cloth and around the basin detail, creating a sense of age and intentional antiquing. The result is a hand-finished figurative bronze that rewards close attention: the weight of the kneeling figure's posture, the texture of the seated figure's short-sleeved robe, the quiet stillness between two people locked in an act of service. A wide flat rectangular plinth in a reddish-brown finish carries a dedicated inscription plaque reading "DIVINE SERVANT", grounding the piece with a sense of permanence and purpose.

At 200cm and 800kg, this is a piece that commands significant architectural space. It suits grand institutional interiors, ceremonial entrance halls, chapels, memorial gardens, and civic landscapes equally. The warm bronze tones read well against natural stone, polished concrete, dark timber, and mature landscaping. Its classical modelling integrates into both heritage and contemporary built environments without compromise.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer this piece in a range of patina finishes, from the warm dark brown shown to verdigris, mid-tone statuary bronze, and custom aged effects. Scale adjustments are available for institutional or monumental site requirements. The inscription plaque text can be customised to reflect a specific dedication, name, or date. This piece has also been commissioned inspired by the work of classical figurative sculptors working in the Greco-Roman narrative tradition. Contact us before ordering to discuss your site, finish preferences, or bespoke requirements.
