The Large Contemporary Fragmented Traveller Bronze Sculpture stands 210cm tall, presenting a slender male figure mid-stride, suitcase in hand, with significant sections of the torso, mid-section and lower legs deliberately absent. The resulting silhouette is arresting: a human form defined as much by its voids as by its presence, evoking themes of transience, identity and the solitude of travel.
This piece is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, which captures every contour of the original modelled form with precision. The hand-finished cast bronze surface carries a deep, consistent dark brown patina across all visible fragments, lending the work a sober, gallery-grade presence. The fractured silhouette is not a flaw but a resolved artistic statement: the bronze is structurally engineered so that each fragment balances and supports independently, a considerable technical achievement at this scale. The low-profile integral base keeps the ground plane clean, allowing the figure to read as though suspended mid-journey.
At 210cm, this sculpture commands space with authority. It suits contemporary public spaces, corporate atria, hotel lobbies and landscaped gardens equally. The dark bronze tone integrates naturally with stone paving, polished concrete, mature planting and architectural steel. Because the piece is open and fragmented rather than solid and monolithic, it casts dynamic light and shadow across the day, reading differently from every angle and in every season. It is fully suited to outdoor placement and will develop a naturally deepening patina over time if left uncoated.
We offer a range of patina finishes including light natural bronze, verdigris green and dark museum brown. The figure can also be produced at alternative heights for site-specific installations inspired by the work of Bruno Catalano. If you require a custom scale, a specific finish or have a commissioning brief, please contact us before placing your order so we can confirm all requirements and provide an accurate timeline.
