The Large Contemporary Fragmented Traveller Bronze Sculpture stands at an imposing 180cm, presenting a solitary figure mid-journey, suitcase in hand, his torso dissolving into air through dramatic structural voids. The composition is arresting: a full-height standing form that reads as complete despite the deliberate absence of chest and midsection, achieving a rare tension between presence and disappearance.
This piece is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting process, which captures every surface nuance with fidelity that industrial methods cannot replicate. The result is a solid cast bronze sculpture finished by hand, carrying a deep dark brown patina that pools in the recesses and lifts to warmer bronze tones across raised forms. The deliberate play of light across the fragmented silhouette means the sculpture reads differently at every angle and in every light condition. As a large bronze figure statue, it commands space without demanding symmetry.
At 180cm and 150kg, this is a work scaled for significant architectural settings. Indoors, it suits double-height entrance halls, gallery corridors, corporate atriums, and private salons with stone, concrete, or dark timber surroundings. Outdoors, the fully weathering bronze patina develops character over time and holds up to exposed conditions without structural compromise, making it equally suited to a formal courtyard, a sculptural garden, or a landscaped terrace.
The patina on this figure can be adjusted at the point of commission: a warmer mid-brown, a cooler verde green, or a deep near-black finish are all available. Scale modifications are possible for collectors requiring a version suited to a more intimate interior. This particular fragmented-figure concept is also available as a bespoke commission inspired by the work of Bruno Catalano. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements.
